National Quilting Day
March 21, 2026
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Want to donate your finished quilts or fabric stash? Consider donating them to Lutheran World Relief, one of the largest and most effective global relief organizations on the planet. Quilts will be distributed to displaced people all over the world in need of bedding, shelter, and comfort. Don’t have a quilt to donate? LWR is also collecting fabric kits to teach marketable sewing skills (just two fabrics and two spools of thread).
-
Completed quilts must measure 60 x 80 (or very close to it); other sizes will not be accepted; no fleece
-
Fabric kits consist of 2 pieces of cotton or cotton-blend fabric (2.25 yards of 58-62" wide fabric, or 3 yards of 42-45"wide fabric, or 4yards of 34-37" wide fabric) and 2 spools of matching general-purpose thread totaling 500-800 yards
-
Donations should be clean with no stains or rips
-
Crochet or embroidery floss is preferred for quilt tying
-
Quilts should not display any religious holiday symbols (secular symbols ok), no messages, names, flags from any country, patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces (including camo). Remember, these items are being distributed globally
Drop off completed quilts and sewing kits at Galilean Lutheran Church, 824 Ocean Shores Blvd NW, Ocean Shores, WA, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
